Co-productions
We partner on feature-length fiction and documentary films, providing financial and in-kind contributions and handling all aspects of music supervision—from selecting the composer to the final mix.
What we do
We act as a co-producer, contributing our own capital, time, and expertise to audiovisual projects. We address the issue of insufficient funding for sound post-production and the need for high-quality original and licensed music.
Instead of a standard service, we offer a partnership. We invest in projects we believe in. We look for stories that tackle important, often difficult topics, but we’re also open to intriguing, high-quality mainstream cinema—what matters to us is a good project and whether we feel a positive connection with the people we’ll be working with.
We actively seek out new projects and partners. We do this in two main ways:
- Polish Days Award: Every year, we fund an award in the form of a co-production contribution worth 75,000 PLN net, supporting promising productions in the development or work-in-progress stages.
- Market Presence: We initiate collaborations with producers we meet at festivals and industry events. We’re where you are—we partner with and regularly attend events such as the Warszawski Festiwal Filmowy, Krakowski Festiwal Filmowy, Berlinale czy Festiwal Polskich Filmów Fabularnych w Gdyni.
Why It Matters
What Risks We Take Off the Producer’s Shoulders
As a co-producer, we not only provide financial and in-kind contributions, but we also manage the entire soundtrack process. The lead producer does NOT have to worry about negotiating rates with composers, securing a budget for expensive licenses (known as “clearance”), or managing the recording schedule.
What are the risks if you don’t take care of this during pre-production and production? Failure to secure the budget and music rights usually results in the release being delayed, costly copyright infringement lawsuits (so-called synchronization claims), or drastic artistic compromises (replacing tracks with free, low-quality stock music), which ultimately reduces the market and festival value of your work.
Legal Security
As your co-producer, we guarantee 100% legal security (the so-called “chain of title”) in the field of music:
- What rights: We acquire and transfer or license full economic copyrights, related rights, and synchronization rights (master and publishing rights). We ensure that no sample or track claims rights in Content ID systems.
- Which territories: We secure rights (known as “clearance”) worldwide, in perpetuity, for all required fields of exploitation (all media).
- What documents: We provide you with a complete package: a transparent co-production agreement, work-for-hire agreements and rights assignment agreements with the creators, signed synchronization licenses with labels/publishers, and completed cue sheets ready for collecting societies (e.g., ZAiKS, STOART).
